The Manager, Human Resources (HR) contributes to the Workers' Safety and Compensation Commission's (WSCC) business objectives through the management, development, implementation and consistent application of the WSCC's human resources policies, programs and services. In addition, the position is responsible to manage the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources Unit.

The Manager, HR is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy work environment for all staff and visitors to the WSCC in Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The incumbent achieves this through the development, implementation and evaluation of the corporate safety strategy and Emergency Response Plan.

• Integral part of the WSCC's Leadership Team that supports the organization's strategic direction.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of WSCC's human resources, workplace safety, employee wellness and workforce development programs.
• Lead initiatives that attract, develop, engage and retain talented employees while supporting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Work closely with the President and Senior Management to identify, develop and implement policies and process that will support the development of a competent public service through effective recruitment and retention of employees and that will reflect a highly client-focused service approach.
  

What you bring to the role:

• Completion of a relevant Bachelor's degree, with 7 years of progressive experience in human resources, including 3 years of supervisory/management experience and 1 years working in occupational health and safety
