We are seeking a Project Accounting to join us for a full-time 18-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Preference for location is our North Vancouver office.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and project reconciliation, plus miscellaneous accounting duties as required.
• Assist with accounting billing process improvements.
• Support financial performance of project portfolio, partnering with project managers to deliver timely, actionable reporting.
• Review and manage client billing to ensure accuracy, contract compliance, and timely collections; resolve billing issues.
• Maintain accurate project financial data throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform monthly project financial reviews, including budget variance analysis and profitability insights.
• Identify project financial risks and irregularities and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage work-in-progress (WIP), including forecasting and financial analysis.
• Serve as an ERP system expert (ex. Microsoft Business Central), promoting best practices and supporting users.
• Support month-end, year-end, audits, and financial reporting in collaboration with corporate accounting.
• Contribute to process improvements and standardization initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members and promote consistency in accounting practices.

Education and Experience

• Diploma or degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience.
• Strong background with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP experience.
