The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. As a Permanent Teacher for DDSB, you'll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You'll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications and additional information:

• Required subject qualifications: Music qualifications
• FTE: 0.3 (currently days 3, ,4, and 5)
• Grade(s)/assignment: Instrumental Music to grades 4-6
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Elementary Permanent Salary Range: $53,352 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE)

Additional Requirements

• Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
