What's it like working as a Senior Analyst Operational Risk Management at Community Trust Company? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst - Operational Risk Management to join our dynamic team. The Senior Risk Analyst will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Risk Management, the successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that operational risks are effectively managed in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. • Lead the development and implementation of operational risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and evaluate operational risks inherent in business processes, systems, and activities.
• Design and execute risk control self-assessment (RCSA) programs to assess the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and assess emerging risks to proactively identify potential issues and trends.
• Analyze operational incidents and losses to identify root causes, trends, and lessons learned, and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with business units and support functions to enhance risk awareness, promote a strong risk culture, and embed risk management principles into daily operations.
• Provide expert guidance and advice on operational risk matters to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Support the development and delivery of operational risk training programs to enhance the risk management capabilities of employees.
• Stay informed about regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks in the financial services sector, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness while managing associated risks.
• Support and build a prudent risk management culture specific to Operational Risk Management
• Enhance existing Risk Appetite Statements for Operational Risk related metrics for management and Board reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CRM, PRM) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in operational risk management within the financial services industry, with a focus on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Strong understanding of operational risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in risk management tools and systems, as well as MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Knowledge of Canadian financial regulations and regulatory requirements pertaining to operational risk management (e.g. OSFI E21 guidelines) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of physical security management is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning and development.
• Bring a positive, can-do attitude to our organization, using creative solutions to solve problems.
