About Us

The Pink Geranium Café & Grocery is the heart of the Bodega Ridge Collection, a boutique hospitality group on Galiano Island made up of Bodega Ridge Lodge & Cabins, Bodega Cove, and the café itself. We're an island café and grocery in equal measure — a morning coffee stop, a lunch spot, and the place locals and guests come to pick up provisions. Our work has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, Monocle, and National Geographic, but day to day it's simpler than that: good coffee, honest food, and people who are genuinely glad to see you.

The Role

We're looking for a Café Supervisor who is front and centre on the floor — making coffee, running the till, and setting the tone for every guest who walks in. This is a hands-on role first: most of your day is spent behind the espresso machine and at the register, working alongside the team rather than away from it. Layered on top of that, you'll take the lead on the details that keep the café running smoothly — helping coordinate schedules, keeping an eye on stock, and keeping the shelves and case looking their best. Above all, we need someone who loves coffee, loves food, and — most importantly — loves people.

What You'll Do

Coffee & till: Be behind the espresso machine and on the till for the majority of your shift — you're the face of the café.

Floor leadership: Set the pace and standard for service, especially during rushes; jump in wherever the floor needs you.

Scheduling support: Help coordinate staff schedules and cover, working with the team to keep shifts running smoothly.

Inventory support: Keep an eye on stock levels for coffee, food, and grocery items; help with ordering, receiving, and counts.

Merchandising: Keep the grocery shelves, café case, and displays fresh, well-stocked, and inviting to browse.

Team support: Help train new team members on drinks, till procedures, and our standard for guest service.

Guest experience: Be a warm, familiar presence for guests and locals alike — the café's reputation starts at the counter.

Compliance: Follow food safety and health regulations, and help keep a clean, well-run service area.

Sister property support: Occasionally support service at our sister property for weddings and private events.

What You Bring

A genuine love of coffee, food, and hospitality — and most importantly, a love of people.

Solid barista experience and comfort running a till during a busy rush.

Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or retail food service setting, ideally with some supervisory experience.

A natural eye for merchandising and presentation.

Comfort helping with scheduling and light inventory work alongside your day-to-day floor duties.

A steady, hands-on leadership style — you lead by working alongside the team, not from behind a desk.

Comfort working in a small, close-knit island community where everyone wears a few hats.

Flexibility to travel occasionally to our sister property for event support.

Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain one).
