Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the organization's mission to develop and deliver clean energy projects that advance a fully renewable future. This position is part of the Project Engineering function, supporting the technical execution and commissioning of wind energy projects across North America.

You will have the opportunity to engage early in the project lifecycle, contributing from the planning phase to help establish strong technical foundations. In this role, you will collaborate with internal engineering teams, project managers, contractors, independent engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and input to the Project Manager throughout project execution
  • Manage interfaces and communications across engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls)
  • Lead and coordinate subject matter experts to address RFIs and resolve technical issues impacting projects
  • Identify, track, and manage key technical risks, opportunities, and action items, ensuring timely resolution
  • Ensure technical activities are aligned with project schedules and executed accordingly
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and status reports to technical and project leadership teams
  • Capture lessons learned and promote continuous improvement across projects
  • Support knowledge transfer and handover to operations and service teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Formal project management training or certification preferred
  • 15+ years of experience managing projects related to:
    • Onshore wind turbine design (mechanical, electrical, interconnection, certification)
    • Balance of Plant (BoP) design (mechanical systems, medium‑voltage electrical, foundations, SCADA, communications)
  • Strong knowledge of turbine systems and Balance of Plant engineering
  • Familiarity with NERC reliability standards
  • Proven experience coordinating technical teams across multiple engineering disciplines

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Clear and effective technical writing and presentation capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business software
  • Ability to manage complex technical interfaces and cross-functional collaboration

Additional Requirements

  • Fluency in English and French required; additional languages (German, Spanish) are an asset
  • Willingness and ability to travel (approximately 20%)
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
  • Must meet all applicable pre‑employment screening requirements under Canadian regulations
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurability requirements
