We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Team Leader with a strong background in management, project coordination, team building, and hands-on full stack development. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing both internal and customer projects, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.

In addition to managing the team effectively, the candidate should possess the expertise to troubleshoot technical issues, and have deep knowledge in API integration, programming, containerization, and infrastructure design. The right person for this role will keep the team energized, focused, and aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management and Staff Support:

• Lead and manage a team of developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success.
• Assist team members with troubleshooting technical issues and manage staff-related matters effectively as they arise.

API Integration:

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate REST, SOAP, and JSON APIs seamlessly into our software solutions.
• Ensure effective communication with external systems and maintain API standards.

Programming Skills:

• Utilize proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and JavaScript to develop robust and scalable software solutions.
• Develop and maintain codebase standards, best practices, and coding guidelines for the team.
• Experience with WCF (or Web API), WPF, and MVC frameworks is essential for developing versatile applications.

Containerization and Infrastructure Design:

• Apply experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and node.js to streamline deployment processes and enhance scalability.
• Contribute to infrastructure design discussions to ensure software solutions meet performance and reliability requirements.

Database Administration (DBA):

• Oversee database maintenance, setup, and design activities, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
• Utilize expertise in SQL and Postgres to optimize database queries and troubleshoot performance issues.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in software development, with strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in API integration, with experience working with REST, SOAP, and JSON APIs.
• Advanced skills in programming languages such as C# (.NET Framework), and JavaScript (Angular 2+).
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and node.js.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure design principles for software applications.
• Familiarity with WCF (or Web API), WPF, and MVC frameworks.
• Expertise with database administration, including maintenance, setup, and design using SQL and Postgres.
• While no specific certifications are required, relevant certifications would be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM

Reporting to: Our offices are located east of Ottawa in Plantagenet, ON.

Hybrid position, the position could be remote, however regular visits to our office to collaborate with the team in person would be required.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually

3 weeks vacation

5 paid personal days
