Elderly Caregiver Needed in Midtown Toronto Position: Elderly Caregiver Location: Midtown Toronto (10-minute walk west of Davisville Station) We are seeking a compassionate and patient caregiver for an independent 80-year-old woman who requires increasing support due to early dementia and frailty. This role focuses on fostering a supportive, respectful environment that promotes the client’s autonomy and well-being. Key Responsibilities:

• Accompany the client to medical appointments (via taxi; no personal vehicle required).
• Assist with light housekeeping, including tidying the apartment and doing laundry.
• Run errands, such as getting grocery items
• Take her for walks, and out to social activities as she is able
• Provide companionship and build a trusting, respectful relationship over time.
• Eventually assist with showering if needed in the future.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in English; Bengali language skills are a significant asset but not required.
• Demonstrated patience and empathy, with the ability to understand the client’s needs without being overbearing.
• Experience with dementia clients is an asset
• Ability to respect and support the client’s desire for autonomy.

Additional Information:

• Client speaks English, but first language is Bengali.
• The role focuses on companionship, support with daily activities, and ensuring the client’s comfort and safety.
• Personal care assistance is not currently required.
• Hours will be in the afternoon, and we will set the schedule in conjunction with the candidate’s availability.
• Approximately 10-20 hours per week.
