BC Conservation Foundation is seeking an energetic, organized, and adaptable person to fill a fast-paced role of Road Restoration Program Manager. The ideal candidate will contribute towards recovery actions for Southern Mountain Caribou by managing one road restoration program in the Telkwa and Tweedsmuir herd ranges, under the direction of BC Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resource Stewardship's Project Leads.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the program budget, including financial reporting, supporting contract development, and other related tasks.
• Seeking and maintaining partnerships and relationships with First Nations, Licensees, Forestry Districts and user groups.
• Coordinating with multiple First Nations partners, the Ministry of Forests, and forest licensees to plan and implement work.
• Preparing a Section 52 letter under the Forest Act and assisting with conducting formal consultation requirements as required.
• Organizing and coordinating extensive fieldwork programs and participating in fieldwork when required. Fieldwork may include: remote camera deployment and servicing, candidate road restoration verification; restoration treatment implementation monitoring.
• Planning restoration activities for future fiscal years.
• Assisting provincial employees in preparing spend approvals and contract documents in order to complete project activities
• Annual reporting on projects to project partners and funding agencies, preparing progress updates, proposals and extension or change requests.
• Managing and organizing data associated with the program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing or coordinating natural resource, forestry, environmental restoration, or land stewardship projects.
• Experience working collaboratively with First Nations, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and resource users.
• Experience managing project budgets, financial reporting, contract administration, preparing technical reports, permit applications, regulatory submissions, and supporting consultation processes.
• Experience managing project data, records, and reporting systems.
• Experience using Geographic Information Systems e.g., ArcGIS Pro.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to remote field locations as required.
• Knowledge of forestry legislation, regulations, and permitting processes, including the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA).

Skills:

• Strong project and program management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Excellent budgeting, financial management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with First Nations, government representatives, licensees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of forestry regulatory frameworks and permitting processes, including the Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA), and their application in operational settings.
• Strong understanding of Indigenous engagement and collaborative resource management approaches.
• Excellent written communication skills, including technical writing, reporting, and proposal development.
• Strong verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of environmental restoration, road restoration, and monitoring practices.
• Experience conducting or coordinating fieldwork in remote and challenging environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

NOTE: Fieldwork will take place in the backcountry between Houston, BC, and Burnie-Shea Provincial Park. Accommodation may be provided for applicants who need to travel to the field site during the fieldwork period.
