Electrode Process Engineer

Job Responsibility:

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for process management and improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of process knowledge and motivated attitude to get new technology.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding of machinery, electrical systems and pneumatics.
• Understanding of Process operation protocol & management to secure Ket index like yield, production rate
• Understanding of equipment terminology & process recipe setting.
• Applies engineering techniques to install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Confers with production engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements.
• Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
• Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Provide technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment. Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.
• Maintain documentations for standard documents for mass production, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
• Communicate with vendors to solve complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support.
• Act as primary contact for equipment performance related questions and concerns.
• Analyzing Process down root cause & immediate resolution through IT program data server.
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train technician to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
• Maintain communication between department co-workers and manage production flow from one process to the next
• Prepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of Process management, Troubleshooting PD.
• MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills.
• Advanced Skill of computational draft program [Ex. Auto CAD, Solid works].
• Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets.
• Computational Skill, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Statistical knowledge.
• A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work in low humidity environments of 1%, 10%, and 35%.
• Must be able to wear clean room attire at all times (including coveralls, beard net, hair net/bump cap, safety glasses, safety shoes, surgical style mask, and latex or nitrile gloves).

Preferred Requirements:

• Preference is given to those with a specialization in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering.
• Master's degree in engineering or science preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (Especially, lithium-ion batteries industry).
• 3+ years of supervising experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge in English and Korean.
