Position Summary: As a Junior Brewer at Clear Lake Brewing Co., you will be part of a small brew team responsible for assisting with all aspects of the brewing process. From brewing and fermentation to packaging and quality control, you will learn the craft and gain hands-on experience working with our experienced team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for craft beer and a desire to grow within the brewing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Brewing Operations: Assist in the day-to-day brewing process, including mashing, lautering, boiling, cooling, and fermentation.
• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Ensure all brewing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Fermentation Monitoring: Help monitor fermentation progress, take gravity readings, and perform other quality control checks.
• Packaging: Assist with the packaging process, including kegging, bottling, and canning. Ensure the final product meets quality standards.
• Inventory Management: Assist with tracking raw materials such as malt, hops, yeast, and packaging supplies. Help manage stock and ensure timely ordering.
• Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks to ensure the consistency and quality of beer, including tasting and troubleshooting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Brewer and other brewing team members to support recipe development and continuous improvement.
• Safety: Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in brewing, food science, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience working in a brewery, even in an entry-level or intern role, is preferred but not required.
• Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for craft beer.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of brewing processes is a plus.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Availability: Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
