What You Can Expect

We currently have a 3-month contract position in our West Vancouver office for a driven LAA. While the role will start out on a contract basis, there is opportunity for it to turn into a permanent role.

Responsibilities

This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:

• Performing conflict searches, opening files, completing client identification/verification and preparing retainer letters.
• Maintaining and organizing files and documents.
• Formatting documents.
• Time entry and billing.
• Generating monthly WIP and AR Reports.
• Sending and receiving letters with or without enclosures, as well as with or without courier.
• Bank runs, as needed.
• Welcoming all visitors and guests to our West Vancouver location.
• Answering incoming telephone calls and forwarding to appropriate parties, as needed.
• Receiving payments, recording receipts for services.
• Calendar organization for lawyers including scheduling telephone, video conference and in-person client meetings, booking boardrooms and setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and Teams; and
• Other administrative duties as required.

What You Bring To The Table

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an LAA
• A Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Strong technical proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
• Ability to manage a high volume of work and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing demands and deadlines

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is $56,000-$65,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills/knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
