Peat harvesting is a seasonal operation that takes place during the warmer months and plays a vital role in producing a growing medium used by professional growers throughout North America. Our seasonal team members are essential to the success of our harvest season and are part of a hardworking, safety-focused team.

The Harvest Operator is responsible for harvesting raw materials and performing other duties as assigned.

This is a weather- and production-dependent position; overtime and weekend work may be required. This position is seasonal , typically operating from April through November .

Location: Near Mill Creek, Manitoba (MB-234, Little Bullhead, MB R0C 1V0)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with Bog Supervision and management to determine priorities and courses of action to improve product quality and employee safety
• Ensure all company procedures are being followed
• Perform inspections, fuel, grease and clean assigned equipment daily
• At all times work in a manner that maintains the safety of themselves and others
• Report any issues on equipment to maintenance department
• Work extra hours as required to keep production running
• Additional duties as required or assigned

• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• High Initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, accountability and reliability
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with teammates and contractors
• Strong work ethic

Education and Experience

• Ability to operate Agricultural equipment considered an asset (will certify on site)
• Valid Class 5 drivers license

Job requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must have own means of transportation to and from work.
