We are seeking a skilled and dependable Oil Burner Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of oil-fired heating and combustion equipment.
This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient heating systems.
Competitive hourly rate with daily overtime; Annual Range: $125,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair oil-fired burners, furnaces, boilers, and heating systems .
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on oil-burning equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, combustion, and control-system issues.
- Adjust and tune burners to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
- Inspect and maintain fuel delivery systems, pumps, filters, nozzles, valves, piping, and associated components.
- Perform combustion testing and make adjustments as required to optimize equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot burner controls, ignition systems, thermostats, sensors, relays, motors, and other electrical components.
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or replacement of components.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and service calls in a timely manner.
- Complete equipment start-ups, shutdowns, testing, and commissioning as required.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable safety standards, codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Communicate equipment conditions, repair requirements, and potential issues to supervisors and other members of the maintenance team.
- Coordinate with other trades and contractors when work impacts mechanical, electrical, building, or facility systems.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related maintenance and technical duties as required.
- Journeyperson certification or recognized qualification as an Oil Burner Technician , Heating Technician, or related trade.
- Experience servicing and maintaining oil-fired heating and combustion equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of burner controls, ignition systems, fuel systems, combustion, and heating controls.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment commissioning.
- Valid driver's license, where required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

- Position may involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, fuels, and other industrial conditions.
- May require overtime, emergency call-outs, or flexible scheduling depending on operational requirements.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
