As demand continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional Operations Manager to help lead the next stage of our company's growth.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional Operations Manager position.

You will help lead one of Alberta's most technically capable industrial manufacturers while working alongside an experienced engineering, quality and leadership team.

You will be responsible for transforming production from a successful job-shop environment into a highly organized, scalable manufacturing operation.

Reporting To

Managing Directors

Role

Successful candidate will own the execution of manufacturing across all lines of the corporation. Candidate will deliver complex industrial projects safely, efficiently, profitably and on time.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations

• Lead all daily manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain production schedules.
• Balance workloads across fabrication, machining and welding departments.
• Maximize labour and equipment utilization.
• Monitor work-in-progress.
• Remove production bottlenecks.
• Improve manufacturing throughput.
• Lead daily production meetings.

Leadership

Provide leadership for:

• Shop Foreman
• Purchasing
• Shipping & Logistics

Work closely with:

• Engineering
• Quality
• Estimating
• Ownership

Planning

Coordinate production for multiple product lines including:

• HCWI pressure piping
• Pressure piping manufacturing and relines
• Screen boxes
• Crusher components
• Mining products
• Castings
• Precision machining

Continuous Improvement

Develop systems that improve:

• Productivity
• Quality
• Safety
• On-time delivery
• Capacity
• Manufacturing efficiency

Help build a manufacturing organization capable of supporting significant future growth.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has successfully led heavy industrial manufacturing operations.

Ideal experience includes:

• 10+ years in heavy industrial manufacturing
• 5+ years leading production teams
• Welding and fabrication
• Heavy machining
• Pressure piping fabrication
• Mining equipment manufacturing
• Oil sands maintenance
• Industrial project execution
• Production scheduling
• Lean Manufacturing
• Continuous Improvement
• ERP/MRP systems

P.Eng, CET, MET, PMP, Red Seal or equivalent industrial leadership experience would all be considered.
