The Chief Private Banking Officer is responsible for leading the bank's private banking division, ensuring the delivery of exceptional wealth management services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. The CPBO will define strategy, drive growth, and ensure operational excellence while maintaining regulatory compliance and safeguarding the bank's reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the vision and strategy for the private banking division in alignment with overall bank objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities, new products, and services tailored for high-net-worth clients.
- Set performance targets and ensure the achievement of revenue and profitability goals.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients.
- Ensure the highest standard of personalized service, including investment advisory, estate planning, and wealth structuring.
- Oversee client acquisition and retention strategies.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of relationship managers, wealth advisors, and support staff.
- Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing client-centricity, integrity, and collaboration.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Ensure all private banking operations comply with regulatory and internal risk management policies.
- Oversee due diligence, KYC/AML procedures, and client onboarding processes.
- Monitor market, credit, and operational risks affecting client portfolios.
Product and Portfolio Management
- Collaborate with investment, treasury, and product teams to deliver competitive offerings.
- Monitor portfolio performance and ensure alignment with clients' financial objectives.
- Introduce innovative wealth management solutions to meet evolving client needs.
Brand and Market Presence
- Represent the bank in industry forums, conferences, and media engagements.
- Strengthen the bank's brand in the private banking and wealth management sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or financial services leadership roles.
- Proven track record of managing high-net-worth client relationships and achieving revenue growth targets.
- Deep understanding of investment products, financial planning, tax optimization, and estate planning.
