Like Frozen Food Limited is a growing food wholesale and distribution company based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The company supplies frozen, chilled and dry food products to restaurants, supermarkets and food service businesses throughout Nova Scotia. Products are sourced from both domestic and international suppliers.

Position Summary

Reporting to the President, the Retail and Wholesale Trade Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the company's wholesale food distribution operations, including purchasing strategy, inventory management, sales performance, customer service, warehouse operations, budgeting and staff leadership.

Main Duties

· Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate wholesale food distribution operations.

· Develop business plans, sales targets, pricing strategies and operational objectives.

· Analyze sales, inventory and market trends to support purchasing decisions.

· Negotiate purchasing agreements and delivery schedules with suppliers.

· Establish policies and procedures for purchasing, inventory, warehouse and customer service.

· Oversee warehouse and distribution operations to ensure efficient receiving, storage and delivery.

· Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and workplace safety requirements.

· Prepare and manage operating budgets and review financial performance.

· Maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.

· Plan staffing requirements and participate in recruitment, training and performance evaluation.

· Supervise warehouse, logistics and sales personnel.

· Recommend operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.

· Coordinate activities between purchasing, accounting, warehouse and sales.

· Represent the company in meetings with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

· Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.

· Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in wholesale trade, retail operations, food distribution, or supply chain management, including management responsibilities.

· Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, budgeting and customer relationship management.

· Leadership and analytical skills.

· Mandarin Chinese and/or Cantonese is considered an asset because the position may communicate with Chinese-speaking customers, suppliers and business partners.

Wage

· CAD $36.50–$39.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
