The Agentic AI Engineer Role

Most AI programs stall between the build and the business. Someone architects something impressive, and then it sits — ungoverned, unadopted, and underperforming. The Agentic AI Engineer exists to make sure that never happens at Qlik.

This role has a clear mandate: scale and run the AI agent program that transforms how we serve 35,000 customers. You'll design the agents, define where they act, govern their quality, and bring our frontline teams along for the ride. No handoffs between 'the builder' and 'the operator' because you are both.

What makes this role interesting?

• You’ll own the full lifecycle of an AI agent program from building the reasoning logic to governing how agents perform across 35,000 customer accounts. There’s no template for this; you’re defining it.
• You’ll work at genuine technical depth (LLMs, n8n, RAG, APIs, Salesforce integrations) while also shaping strategy by deciding where agents should act, how quality is governed, and how frontline teams adopt AI as a co-pilot.
• The impact is direct and measurable – reduction in formal escalations, automation of routine tasks for Cohort Leaders, and real-time visibility into every customer interaction across the book of business.
• The challenge: this is a greenfield program in an environment defining its own processes. You’ll need to be equally comfortable in a terminal and in a cross‑functional planning meeting.

Here’s How You’ll Be Making An Impact

• AI Agent Architecture & Development - You will primarily architect and integrate AI agent systems end-to-end, from concept through deployment.
• Design and build AI agents from use case scoping and system prompt engineering through deployment and handoff to operational workflows
• Develop automation pipelines using tools like n8n, integrating with core systems such as Salesforce to trigger the right interventions at the right moments
• Define and implement data pipelines that feed agents the right context at the right time — including ingesting Value Erosion signals and translating them into automated Action plays
• Build technical diagnostic logic to detect Value Erosion in real time, including automated identification of product defects and cases exceeding 5–10 support touchpoints without resolution
• Collaborate with IT and the AI Practice on LLM, RAG, and API integrations into the Intelligent Front Door (IFD)
• Instrument agents for observability — building in the feedback loops and evaluation criteria needed to measure quality and determine automation readiness
• Execute rigorous testing to ensure all agents meet defined Confidence Gates before graduating to autonomous operation
• Produce clear technical documentation and runbooks to support smooth handoffs and operational continuity
• Contribute to roadmap planning by identifying new agentic use cases within the COI org Journey Orchestration & Experience Governance Beyond the build, you will own how agents are deployed and how the customer experience is governed
• Define the precise insertion points across the customer journey where AI agents should act to automate adoption tasks and multiply Cohort Leader capacity
• Lead the “Delight Audit” — reviewing human and agent interactions across the full account base to surface product, support, and experience improvement opportunities
• Analyze audited touchpoints to identify Value Creation opportunities, specifically where improvements in education and knowledge can turn a neutral interaction into a delightful one
• Own the Agent Health Dashboard, tracking universal KPIs (Accuracy, Adoption) and usecase specific KPIs (Value Enhancement Score, Time-to-Resolution) Change Management & Enablement
• Lead the rollout of AI agents to frontline CSMs and Support teams, enabling them to confidently co‑pilot with AI
• Translate audit findings into actionable feedback loops for Product, Support, and Data Intelligence teams
• Drive the automatic drafting of Knowledge Base articles from resolved cases, closing documentation and education gaps in real time

We’re Looking For a Teammate With

• Proven experience building and deploying AI agents or intelligent automation systems in a customer‑facing environment
• Strong operational instincts — you can define where and when agents act, not just how they work
• A quality‑first mindset with a track record of building governance frameworks, testing protocols, or audit processes for AI systems
• Hands‑on experience building with LLMs including prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and agentic design patterns
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or similar
• Ability to work with APIs and webhooks — comfortable pulling and handling data from CRM systems like Salesforce
• Strong systems thinking — you design for reliability and edge cases, not just the happy path
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity — this team defines processes as it builds them
• Collaborative — you work across functions and can translate technical decisions for non‑technical stakeholders

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $CAD 92700 – 116000 per year. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job‑related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
