POSITION FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

KEY DUTIES

• Processes accounts payable invoices.
• Provides administrative support to the Finance Department.
• Provides Accounts Receivable and Utilities back up.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
• Engage with fellow employees, the public, and outside agencies in a courteous manner.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for local government.
• Maintain composure and find solutions when dealing with difficult customers.
• Maintain sustained attention to detail in applying accounting principles and practices with a high degree of accuracy.
• Organize work schedule to meet deadlines and priorities.
• Thorough knowledge of GST/PST.

QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:

• One-year Accounting Certificate

Experience:

• One-year administrative experience
• One-year accounts payable experience
