Role Overview
The Technology department is a strategic partner with BCI’s business areas. It enables investment processes and business activities that contribute to the achievement of BCI’s mission and long‑term goals. In recent years, BCI has modernized its technology environment by advancing cloud adoption, implementing enterprise‑grade applications, improving infrastructure resilience, and adopting AI and advanced analytics. The organization is now focusing on scaling innovation, accelerating transformation and embedding cyber security into the core of its digital and business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization’s forward‑looking cyber strategy.
- Oversee a technically strong team of approximately 11 and lead a portfolio of cyber initiatives that safeguard BCI’s operations, reputation, and global workforce.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the wider BCI organization, the Executive Management Team and the Board of Directors.
- Foster a culture of security awareness, innovation and resilience across the company.
- Lead and evolve a highly‑skilled cyber security function, incorporating Zero‑Trust models, quantum‑computing security implications, modern threat‑intelligence frameworks, and AI/ML automation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an IT leader in a modern, future‑focused cyber security environment within a complex organization.
- Expertise in Zero‑Trust security models, quantum‑computing security implications, modern threat‑intelligence frameworks and integration of AI, machine learning and automation in cyber security operations.
- Visionary people‑leader capable of translating cutting‑edge cyber concepts into practical, business‑aligned security strategies.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with the Technology Department, the Board and Management team at BCI.
Location
Vancouver or Victoria (with a preference for Victoria).

Compensation and Salary
The annualized base salary range for this role based in Vancouver or Victoria is CAD $180,000 – $230,000. The base salary offered will consider a wide array of factors, including the individual’s skill set, level of experience and internal equity. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on experience and expertise.
