Advisor, Employee Communications

The Mint is hiring an Advisor, Employee Communications, who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Communications, the Advisor is responsible for leading internal communication initiatives at the Mint. This role directly supports cultivating a positive and healthy workplace culture, articulating business goals to support employees in their day-to-day work, elevating the sense of community, supporting engagement and enablement through open communication, and ensuring employees have the information and context they need to excel.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop content in support of the employee communications content plan and strategy in collaboration with the leadership team;
• Publish digital and print publications;
• Collaborate with public affairs to align key corporate messaging;
• Develop and support delivery of corporate communication internal content;
• Lead communication activities in support of corporate initiatives, meetings, and events, including managing vendors, budgeting and on-site execution of these key initiatives.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa location three to five days per week, depending on meeting requirements and other activities.

Qualifications:

Languages Requirements:

Proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If no qualified candidate fully meets the required levels, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy. The linguistic profile for this position is:

Education & Designation:

• University degree or certificate in related area or a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of related business experience.
• Experience in video recording and editing is an asset.

Additional Qualifications:

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams) and software tools, such as InDesign and Photoshop, required for publications;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrated attention to detail, including excellent editing skills;
• Ability to handle and work with confidential information;
• Excellent problem solving, strategic planning and project management experience;
• Ability to create and maintain interpersonal relationships at various levels;
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a small team;
• Comfort and ability to work independently;
