Summary of Duties

Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programs for clients with musculoskeletal and related disorders in the hospital programs Assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate interventions for transitional care clients Collaborate with the treatment team toward discharge planning Educate clients and their families, hospital staff and the community regarding musculoskeletal/other disorders and preventative health care Direct the daily activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students/interns in the department, as required Participate in profession-specific and interprofessional activities in support of the Sunnybrook Occupational Therapy service and the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto Practice in accordance with COTO standards We Provide

Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required Membership in CAOT and/or OSOT required Experience preferred in the areas of musculoskeletal dysfunction (in particular treating patients who undergo hip and knee arthroplasty), geriatric rehabilitation, cognitive and psychosocial assessment and treatment skills Commitment to clinical excellence and use of best practices Demonstrated commitment to Patient-Centred Care concept and principles Ability to demonstrate reflective practice
