Chef de Cluster - Data Center Operations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its infrastructure management team in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, and is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Cluster Leader (Chef de Cluster) . This senior leadership role within Amazon Data Services Canada requires a proven technology manager ready to drive performance and people development at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (minimum 6 front‑line supervisors depending on location) and 50–100 hourly employees within Regional Data Centers
• Maintain overall accountability for safety, quality, performance, and customer experience across multiple shifts
• Drive strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs
• Meet and exceed operational goals
• Mentor, train, and develop both peers and direct reports for career progression
• Champion team learning and development from both technical/functional and soft skills perspectives (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, adaptability)
• Write and deliver annual performance reviews to staff
• Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the Cluster
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
• 3+ years experience implementing LEAN/6 Sigma methodology (continuous improvement, DMAIC/DVADV, 5 Whys, Root Cause analysis)
• 7+ years of experience working with computer components and operating systems
• Fluent in French and English (bilingualism required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
• LEAN Certification/Belts
• PMP/PMI certification
• 5+ years experience managing geographically dispersed teams
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with mission critical infrastructure
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

Salary

$103,900 – $136,100 CAD annually. Amazon also offers signing bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and ADD insurance), RRSP, DPSP, and paid time off.
