Lead Substation Protection Engineer
Sargent & Lundy
Apply protective relaying and controls expertise to HV and EHV substations with Sargent & Lundy on a hybrid schedule.As Lead Substation Engineer, you will lead engineering and design teams delivering modifications and upgrades for client requirements. You will prepare relaying philosophies, SCADA concepts, calculations, technical documents, and specifications. The work includes detailed protection and controls design, independent reviews, client coordination, and mentoring engineers.Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering and design teams on substation modifications and upgradesPrepare relaying philosophies, equipment selections, and SCADA configurationsAnalyze single line, relaying, metering, and schematic diagramsInvestigate engineering issues and support troubleshooting assignmentsCoordinate designs with engineers, clients, suppliers, and project managersRequirements:
Bachelor of Science Engineering degree requiredTen or more years protecting, controlling, or communicating for HV substationsPE or P.Eng license requiredExperience with relay calculations and technical design documentationProficiency with SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, CDEGS, or vendor softwareLead HV and EHV substation protection work through relaying, controls, communications, reviews, and engineering coordination.
