In this role, you will travel to customer sites to perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs on a wide variety of general rental equipment—ensuring our customers receive equipment that is safe, reliable, and ready to work.What You Will DoAs a Road Mechanic, you will independently service and repair equipment on job sites in the safest and most efficient manner possible. Work includes:Performing preventive maintenance and advanced diagnosticsCompleting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairsOperating in a fast‑paced environment with shifting prioritiesEnsuring equipment reliability and minimizing customer downtimeRepresenting Sunbelt Rentals professionally at customer locationsOur general rental fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), construction tools, light equipment, and depending on location, generators, pumps, HVAC units, and oil & gas–related equipment.Education & ExperienceYou will be set up for success if you have:High school diploma or GED (required)Trade school or equivalent mechanical training (preferred)Prior experience as a mechanic on diesel engines, heavy equipment, or rental industry equipment (strongly preferred)A valid Red Seal Heavy Duty certification is an assetKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to supply your own standard mechanic’s toolsAdvanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skillsAbility to work independently in the field with minimal supervisionComfortable working indoors/outdoors in various weather conditionsWhy Sunbelt?
