Market Access Manager (12-month contract) - Diabetes Care (British Columbia)

Abbott seeks a Market Access Manager for a 12-month contract role leading Western Canada's market access and stakeholder engagement strategy for the Diabetes Care Division. The position is field-based and focuses on building relationships with policymakers, payors, and healthcare providers to advance reimbursement and patient access to diabetes monitoring technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including policymakers, provincial drug plan representatives, and advocacy groups across four Western Canadian provinces
• Develop reimbursement value propositions, health economic strategies, and submission dossiers for Abbott Diabetes Care products
• Assess healthcare policy dynamics and adjust pricing and reimbursement strategies accordingly
• Identify and develop strategies to address short and long-term reimbursement risks and opportunities
• Collaborate with global market access colleagues to share best practices and ensure successful product reimbursement outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, health economics, clinical epidemiology, HTA, or related healthcare field
• Master's degree or PhD preferred in healthcare-related discipline
• Minimum five years' experience in market access, stakeholder relations, or government relations within healthcare or medical device sectors
• Demonstrated success engaging with government officials, HTA bodies, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups
• Strong understanding of public policy, HTA frameworks, and regulatory environments in healthcare
• Strategic relationship-building experience and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Project management experience with external agencies, budgets, and multistakeholder initiatives
