Pediatric and Obstetric Anesthetist Role

Become a valued anesthetist at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, working in a proactive team of 10 anesthesiologists. Your expertise will focus on delivering quality anesthesia in surgical and obstetrical settings. This role involves managing anesthesia for a variety of procedures, particularly in pediatrics and obstetrics, while also engaging in pre-admission consultations. You'll provide sedation in the endoscopy suite and support complex cases in the emergency department. The position offers the potential for ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and participation in clinics focused on chronic pain management. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia for surgeries, including pediatrics
• Conduct pre-admission consultations for patient assessment
• Administer sedation during endoscopic procedures
• Support difficult cases in the emergency department
• Participate in strategic hospital planning for anesthesia services

Requirements:

• CPSO unrestricted license required
• Fellowship in Anaesthesia or equivalent GP training
• Preference for candidates with experience
• Must adhere to CanMEDS competencies
• Availability to participate in on-call duties
