Job Description

• Hosting a live afternoon news talk show (2-6pm EST) that is dynamic, interactive and connects to the target audience, and builds the brand of the radio station
• Conduct thorough topic research that relates to the daily news of the day topics, conversations and interviews for on air
• Create and post original social content and update social media channels on a daily basis
• Work alongside show producer to execute current, informative and entertaining show
• Commercial voicing and other related production, for use in and out of market, on radio and CTV
• Participate in remote broadcasts and station appearances and occasional community appearances, as required
• Attend meetings as required
• Develop and maintain strong local & community awareness
• Other duties as assigned

Critical Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years relevant on-air experience
• Social networking skills (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, SMS, web knowledge) are a MUST!
• Demonstrate excellent voice quality, pronunciation, and on-air delivery
• Demonstrate a knowledge of current affairs, and of issues of interest and importance to AM800 CKLW listeners
• Host talk programs with attention to engaging diverse perspectives
• Demonstrate sound news judgment in preparing source material
• Knowledge of BURLI software is an asset

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
