Part-Time Childcare Provider Needed I am looking for a caring, patient and experienced childcare provider to help with my elementary-school-aged son. The position would be part-time and flexible, with a combination of:

• School pickup on some days, followed by approximately 1 hour of care
• Once or twice a week, spending a couple of hours with him after school
• Occasional additional daytime care when needed

My son is a highly sensitive and shy child. He is sweet and caring, but it takes him time to feel comfortable and build trust with a new caregiver, particularly when he is away from Mom. We are looking for someone who understands this and is willing to build a relationship with him at his pace. The ideal person will:

• Have extensive experience caring for children
• Be genuinely comfortable and confident working with shy, sensitive children
• Be patient, calm and emotionally attuned
• Understand that trust takes time and be willing to build that relationship gradually
• Be able to connect with a child who may initially be quiet or reserved
• Be warm and engaging without being overwhelming or pushy
• Enjoy playing, talking, doing activities and simply spending quality time together
• Be reliable and someone we can build a long-term relationship with

We are not looking for someone who simply supervises him. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and positive person in his life. Previous experience with sensitive, anxious or shy children would be an asset. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are preferred for school pickup.
