Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice

Job Summary We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic APPRENTICE to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of various heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice will work in a dynamic environment where safety and efficiency are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to ensure proper functionality.
- Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while performing tasks such as digging and lifting materials.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform automotive repair tasks.
- Familiarity with electrical systems related to industrial equipment.
- Capable of interpreting schematics for troubleshooting and repair purposes.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
