Job Responsibility:
Overview Airdrie Eyecare Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision exams, diagnosis of eye diseases, and management of patient care. Our practice values patient satisfaction and aims to deliver exceptional optical services in a friendly environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye disorders.
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids based on patient needs.
- Provide pediatric eye care and ensure a comfortable experience for young patients.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular check-ups.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with optical staff to ensure seamless patient service and satisfaction.
- Participate in sales of optical products, offering personalized recommendations based on individual needs.
- Provide senior care services, addressing the unique vision needs of older adults.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to optometry and ophthalmology.
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
- Experience or interest in pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Sales skills to effectively recommend optical products to patients.
- Knowledge of optical equipment and procedures is essential for effective practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism.
We are flexible, and are seeking to fill part time and full time positions. We offer a competitive compensation package, including health benefits, guaranteed daily minimum, and a percentage of gross income.
