Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with sheet metal, including fabrication, installation, and repair. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety standards. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality workmanship in various projects.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
- Install sheet metal products in various settings, including commercial and residential buildings.
- Perform repairs and modifications on existing sheet metal installations.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery safely and effectively for cutting, bending, and shaping metal.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or similar role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools.
- Ability to operate machinery such as shears, brakes, and plasma cutters.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to sheet metal work is essential.
- Certification or training in HVAC systems or related fields is a plus.
