Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for an Electrical Engineer I!

Under close supervision, the Electrical Engineer I performs a variety of electrical engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. This individual will assist in the planning and design of products, tools, and equipment. Incumbents receive specific and detailed instruction regarding required tasks and expected results. Tasks typically relate to design, test, verification and reliability of mechanical and electromechanical food service products and systems.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position is based in our Mississauga, Ontario, facility. This is a full-time, permanent role that is a replacement within the headcount.

Major Accountability:

• Works on new product designs, product improvements, test analysis, and production and service liaisons.
• Prepares basic analysis, test, performance, schedule, and cost information as required.
• Responsible for timely, cost-effective development of product designs, component and material requirements.
• Design electrical circuits, components, systems and equipment based on performance requirements and environmental conditions.
• Provide input over the design and development of equipment designs as they progress through the structural design process.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Prepares concept sketches, detail drawings, design models, and specification documents for product designs.
• Prepares root cause analysis, test performance, schedule and cost information, as required.
• Prepares progress reports, feasibility and concept studies, etc., as required.
• Conduct validation test internally and with agency bodies to ensure appliance designs meet the required safety and performance requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of manuals and sales literature on assigned projects by providing utility specifications

Qualifications

• Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledgeable of fundamental electrical engineering principles concepts, practices and procedures of a field of specialization.
  • A basic understanding of design theory and the ability to read and prepare drawings.
  • Hand off proficiency from assembling prototypes, setting up and conducting various test on the completed unit
• Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Working Conditions
  • Heavy computer use.
  • Normal office or lab environment; must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Must be able to stand/walk/sit for extended periods.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 Lbs.
