Job Description

• Conducting material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of QC or QA programs.
• Assisting in conducting laboratory testing, primarily for soils and aggregate.
• Conducting drilling, sampling and factual data reporting for pavement and foundations designs
• Assisting laboratory manager in maintaining the laboratory in appropriate working condition.
• Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations and indicated by Egis and Safety Officer.
• Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.
• Attending in technical training programs as required.
• Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Egis’ clients and subcontractors.
• Other duties as may be required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering & or Civil Engineering Technology. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training;
• Previous relevant experience is an asset; 
• Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations for extended periods of time within Ontario;
• Able to lift and move samples and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. 
• Demonstrated willingness to learn.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
