Housekeeping Aide

It's an amazing time to join Golden Life as we continue to expand our seniors housing, care, and services within western Canada. 

We’re looking for regular, part-time (0.58 and 0.60 FTE) Housekeeping Aides to join our Ocean Front Village team in Courtenay, BC . If you are a strong team player, then we’d like to hear from you!

The successful candidate will have related experience and has a passion for providing high quality care and support for seniors.

We are looking for someone who will:

• Perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning rooms, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, preparing cleaning solution, replenishing supplies; and cleaning, disinfecting and storing housekeeping equipment;
• Assist with laundry as needed.
• Operate in a safe manner and report any present or potential health and safety hazards to Manager;
• Interact with residents, guests and staff in a courteous and respectful manner;
• Complete required documentation;
• Acts as a positive and constructive team player, creating exceptional customer experiences;
• Follow security and infection control policies and procedures; and,
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

• Effective communication and organizational skills;
• Energetic, focused, and enthusiastic person;
• Accountability for the general sanitation of the building;
• Ability to work independently and as a team-player;
• Physically capable of lifting up to 10kgs;
• Grade 10 education or equivalent;
• Can provide a negative TB Screening test;
• Can provide a complete Immunization Record as outlined in the BC Centre for Disease Control for Health Care workers;
• Successful clearance of a vulnerable sector-criminal record check.

What we offer you

Compensation: The wage schedule of $24.34 per hour for this position currently falls under provincial wage-levelling.
