We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our clients. This is an in office position and not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
- Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
- Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
- Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
- Report analysis and findings to the management team
- Leading assurance engagements
- Preparing assurance and compilation files
- Preparing and analyzing financial statements according to GAAP
- Reviewing T1’s as well as preparing corporate, trust, and personal income tax returns
- Communicating with clients, internal staff, and firm partners effectively
- Completing various reports such as GST, EHT, WSIB, T4, T5, and T3 slips and returns; and, analyzing budgets and cash flow.
Qualifications:
- 5 years in a PUBLIC ACCOUNTING FIRM
- Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
- Thorough knowledge of ASPE and ASNFPO
- Knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, and TaxPrep
- Access to a vehicle to travel within the GTA and surrounding areas
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English to interact directly with clients.
- Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
