The Opportunity

Deveraux Developments is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding finance team in Calgary. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial and management reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls within the Deveraux Group of Companies. What you bring...

• CPA designation
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting or the construction industry
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Construction, development, or project-based accounting experience is an asset

You will...

• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information through day-to-day accounting tasks, including preparation and review of journal entries, invoicing, and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management reporting, including project budget updates, divisional financial statements and forecasts
• Manage ongoing treasury requirements for development entities, including day to day banking requests, cashflow forecasts and the preparation and review of monthly construction mortgage draws
• Prepare and review working papers and support the completion of annual financial statements and tax filings across multiple entities
• Participate in finance initiatives focused on automations, process simplification, enhanced controls and documentation and ERP system conversion
• Design and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools that support forecasting, project monitoring, and strategic planning
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business needs, as assigned
• Provide coverage and support to other finance team members
• Other duties as assigned
