Staff Nurse - Neurosurgical & OMFS Recovery

The Role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Recovery and X-Ray Theatres team, providing high-quality care to patients recovering from surgery and undergoing radiological procedures. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
• Monday to Sunday – early/late shift, weekends, no night duty
• Permanent, full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality programmes of care for postoperative and radiology patients
• Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care within the recovery and radiology environment
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and continuity of patient care
• Support, supervise and mentor students, newly qualified staff and support workers within the clinical area
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with professional, clinical and information governance standards
• Contribute to the effective management of resources, equipment, supplies and departmental stock levels
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and clinical emergencies within a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Registered Nurse on the NMC Register or hold an appropriate Operating Department Practitioner qualification
• Experience working within a clinical healthcare environment with a commitment to delivering excellent patient care
• Ability to assess patient needs and deliver evidence-based care within professional guidelines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to supervise, support and develop less experienced colleagues and students
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills
