Tenure Track Faculty Position - Assistant Professor in Exercise Intervention and Chronic Disease Management Full‑time position, anticipated start date January 1, 2027.

The successful candidate will be offered a tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, including a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an innovative and robust externally‑funded research program involving exercise interventions in human populations experiencing chronic disease, such as psychological, neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic conditions.
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Contribute to a current undergraduate kinesiology concentration that prepares students to engage in exercise programming with clinical populations.
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Provide service to the Faculty, the University, and professional and external communities.
  • Maintain teaching capacity and a research program that extends and complements current faculty expertise and serves instructional needs in the Faculty.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, or a related field relevant to exercise interventions and chronic disease management at the start date of the appointment.
  • Experience communicating research results, including peer‑reviewed journal publications and conference presentations.
  • Ability to extend and compliment existing faculty research regarding chronic disease management and exercise.
  • Potential to secure external funding to support their research program.
  • Ability to fill instructional needs related to exercise prescription in healthy and clinical populations.
  • Ability to effectively engage students in curriculum and research on exercise and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage in impactful service related to institutional operations, research, teaching, and/or access, community, and belonging.
