Location: Kootenay Discovery School, Cranbrook, BC

Contract Type: Part-time Continuing (0.40 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $28,156 to $47,444, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary:

Online Teacher - Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST), Physical and Health Education (PHE) & Elective Courses - Grades 7-12

0.40 FTE continuing contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Secondary level. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience in Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) and Physical and Health Education (PHE). Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience with Online Teaching. It would be considered an asset to have experience with digital media/technology, and/or related Secondary elective courses.

The successful candidate will also provide support to online-only students in the Cranbrook area, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of Grade 4-12 student learning plans and ongoing communication with students and families. Candidates must be experienced with online learning, as well as highly proficient with Microsoft 365 and Learning Management Systems, particularly Brightspace, and have experience with video conferencing platforms, digital organization and communication tools, and effective online assessment practices.

This position will have a home base of Kootenay Discovery School in the community of Cranbrook. This is a distance learning school. The schedule for this position is still to be determined. Please note that all work will be on-site.
