About the position

Content Writer

Remote; Canada

Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract (1 Year)

As search behavior evolves, with users increasingly turning to AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini for answers, we're looking for a Content Writer who can create content that ranks across the full modern search landscape: Google SERPs, AI-generated answers, and LLM-powered discovery tools alike.

We need a motivated, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking Content Writer who understands that getting found in 2026 means writing for both human readers and machine retrieval, and who's excited to make a significant impact in the world of hiring.

What You’ll Do:

As a Content Writer at VidCruiter, your primary responsibility will be to create high-quality content for our corporate website, blog, and various marketing materials, optimized to rank on Google and to be cited by AI search tools. Your role will be dynamic, with key responsibilities including:

• Content Creation and Optimization
  

  • Develop, update, proofread, and optimize content on the corporate website to enhance both traditional SEO performance and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), the practice of structuring content for retrieval and citation by large language models.

  • Research and produce relevant, engaging blog posts, product pages, and resource content that perform for human readers, search engine crawlers, and AI retrieval systems.

  • Apply structured content patterns proven to improve LLM extraction and AI Overview inclusion: question-framed headings, chunked sections, Key Takeaways summaries, FAQ blocks, entity context, and semantic HTML.

  • Create compelling content for social media platforms, industry directories, email campaigns, whitepapers, case studies, and brochures.

• SEO and AI Search Optimization:

  • Utilize SEO best practices to drive organic traffic and improve rankings on Google and Bing.

  • Optimize content for AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and other LLM-powered search tools by writing extractable, semantically clear, and citation-worthy passages.

  • Implement and recommend schema markup (FAQ, Article, Product, HowTo, etc.) to support both rich results and machine readability.

  • Monitor performance across both traditional SERPs and AI answer engines, and iterate content based on what's getting cited and ranked.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute content strategies that align with overall marketing goals.

• Editorial and Quality Assurance :

  • Ensure all content meets high editorial standards, maintaining consistency in style, tone, and quality.

  • Perform thorough proofreading and editing to ensure error-free content.

• Technical Writing (Preferred):

• Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and product descriptions, particularly for SaaS products.

• Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform other content-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support overall marketing objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

• Educational Background:

  • College Degree or higher in Creative Writing, Journalism, Communication, or a related field is a significant asset.

• Experience:
  

  • Proven experience in content writing, SEO, and product marketing.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with how LLMs retrieve, rank, and cite content. Bonus if you can point to content you've written that's been picked up by AI Overviews or cited in tools like Perplexity or ChatGPT.

  • Hands-on experience with structured content patterns, including chunking, question-framed H2s/H3s, FAQ schema, entity context, and writing for extractability.

  • Experience working from structured writer briefs and content frameworks.

  • Experience in journalism or technical writing (especially for SaaS products) is a plus.

• Skills :

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; additional language proficiency (especially French) is considered an asset.

  • Ability to understand and adhere to style guides and various corporate "voice" styles.

  • Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) as part of a research and drafting workflow, while maintaining accuracy, originality, and strong editorial judgment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various digital tools.

  Marketing and Analytical Skills:
  

  • Experience with web analytics, search console data, and content performance tracking is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of traditional SEO principles, plus working knowledge of GEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) practices.

  • Awareness of how schema markup, internal linking, and content structure influence both Google and LLM ranking.
