The Opportunity The Registered Nurse (RN) reporting to the Director of Care is responsible for providing direct resident care and medication administration, and for documenting care in compliance with regulatory and Resident Health and Wellness standards, policies, and procedures.
What You Will Do Complete and ensure residents’ care assessments, service plans, and documentation are up to date, and communicate changes to DOC for billings.
Assist with scheduling residents’ care conferences and participate in conferences.
Work closely with DOC to facilitate residents’ move‑ins and transfers.
Order, restrict, and administer drugs and narcotics in compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies.
Facilitate and provide resident/family education.
Supervise resident self‑medication assessment and audits.
Supervise and delegate care and medication administration responsibilities to unregulated care providers in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
Plan, coordinate, manage, and evaluate the resident’s care plan in collaboration with the resident/substitute decision maker, physicians, nursing and interdisciplinary team, and contracted service providers.
Coordinate nursing team’s resident care assignments to ensure efficient and timely delivery of services to residents.
What You Bring Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the applicable Province/State.
Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long‑term care is an asset.
Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer focus skills.
Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and ability to delegate to unregulated care providers.
Maintenance of competencies as per the governing College standards.
Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications.
Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS). #J-18808-Ljbffr
