Staff Backend Engineer for Search AI

Lead the evolution of search technology at Faire as a Staff Backend Engineer. Your role focuses on enhancing wholesale discovery with innovative AI-driven solutions. Join the Search FX team and bring your expertise to oversee the technical vision for global search systems. This senior position requires a strong focus on collaboration with Data Science and Product teams to tackle complex scaling challenges. You will promote a culture of excellence and drive advancements in user experience through advanced search feature implementation. Key Responsibilities:
- Architect composable grids for effective search experiences
- Optimize query understanding with LLM technology
- Increase retrieval candidates while maintaining latency
- Launch AI-driven features to enhance user interactions
- Ensure observability of the search system
- Minimum 7 years in software engineering roles
- At least 3 years in technical leadership
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch and search processing
- Strong Kotlin or Java programming skills
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
