- Lead proactive discovery and qualification of prospective donors using research, referrals, engagement history, event participation, grateful patient opportunities and community connections.
- Assess prospects for capacity, affinity, inclination and readiness, and recommend whether they should be advanced, nurtured, reassigned or disqualified.
- Partner with Prospect Research, BIIT and Major Gifts colleagues to identify leads, prioritize opportunities, track movement and assign qualified prospects to fundraiser portfolios.
- Provide regular pipeline reporting and recommendations to support cultivation planning, forecasting and campaign readiness.
FRONT-FACING FUNDRAISING AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

- Conduct donor- and community-facing meetings to introduce Foundation priorities and assess philanthropic interest.
- Design and execute discovery opportunities such as briefings, tours, physician or program leader introductions, event follow-up and tailored engagement strategies.
- Prepare concise qualification summaries, contact reports and handoff recommendations for Major Gifts colleagues.
- Support the AVP, Major Gifts and Campaign Directors in engaging volunteer fundraising leaders and connectors who can open doors to prospective donors.
MANAGEMENT AND INTERNAL LEADERSHIP

- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, business development, sales, relationship management or a related field; not-for-profit experience is preferred and transferable skills will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute prospect qualification plans, including setting goals, segmenting prospects, tracking outreach and recommending next steps.
- Strong relationship-building skills and confidence engaging donors, volunteers, physicians, senior leaders and community stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex health care, medical and research priorities into clear and compelling language.
- Strong organizational, project management and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of outreach, tasks and prospect information.
- Sound judgment, diplomacy, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
