This position is a 12-month co-op/new grad/PEY placement beginning January 2027.  

About the role  
We are seeking a highly motivated and naturally curious engineer who is passionate about engineering, continuous improvement, and developing robust manufacturing processes.  

The Process Engineering Associate is directly involved in providing product design and manufacturability input during concept and commercialization phases as well as actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes.  

Work mode:  At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:  

• Support the development and optimization of innovative manufacturing processes and equipment including generating ideas, drafting 3D prototypes in SolidWorks, coordinating testing, and researching and providing input to the team as needed.  

• Support product development projects through prototype builds, process development deliverables, documentation, risk assessments, and validation activities.  

• Assist with the development of validation and test plans by supporting engineers with the execution of process characterization and testing of devices.  

• Aid in the development and provision of technical documentation by preparing drawings, writing work instructions, and providing training for new tools and equipment.  

• Design test methods or follow standard protocols to ensure the device meets the patients’ needs.  

• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to deliver robust, manufacturable, and compliant process solutions  

• In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Required qualifications:  

• Actively enrolled in an Engineering degree, or a recent graduate from a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, preferred.  

• Basic understanding of engineering principles.  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exposure to statistical analysis for data-driven decision making.  

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.  

• Proficient in MS Office.  

Preferred qualifications:  

• Experienced with SolidWorks and Minitab  

• Motivated self-starter with a hands-on approach  

• Ability to work independently, and with a diverse group of Engineers  

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.  

• Demonstrated ability to work proactively and adapt effectively in a dynamic environment.  

• Strong learning agility and growth mindset, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, skill development, and expanding technical expertise.

The anticipated compensation and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see --will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. 

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
