This position is part of the Rotary and Mission Systems business area, where employees across Canada support engineering, systems integration, training, sustainment and in-service support programs for Canadian and international military customers across land, air and sea.

Specific Job Description

The successful candidate will work on the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program within the Ship Integration team. They will be responsible for supporting the design and certification of magazines on board River Class Destroyers (RCDs) through the WOME (Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions, and Explosives) Cross Product Team (CPT).

The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

• Certification of Magazines to Def Stan 00-101
• Reviewing Ammunition routes for in harbour and at sea
• Support WOME sub-CPT through regularly scheduled meetings
• Work with Industry to ensure Ship Class Explosive Safety Report is completed
• Analyzes ammunition safety information
• Evaluates ammunition handling equipment
• Supports Ammunition Operability Statements.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

• Degree or diploma in computer, electrical, mechanical engineering, naval architecture and/or combined Combat Systems Engineering experience
• 5-8 years of professional experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize competing demands
• Must be able to obtain North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret security clearance.

• Armament background
• Ammunition officer
• Experience with IBM Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) is considered an asset
• Experience in Safety and Certification of Naval vessels.
