Position Summary The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) program provides world‑class cardiovascular care and offers a fast‑paced environment with state‑of‑the‑art technology for performing echocardiograms on a uniquely complex patient population.
Duties Perform ultrasound imaging procedures as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment.
Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing efficiently and effectively.
Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results.
Perform other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care.
Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities.
Observe and understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures; adhere to hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications Completion of a recognized post‑diploma program in Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (Basic Rescuer LevelII) certification.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent cardiac ultrasound experience.
Excellent problem recognition and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
Excellent hand‑eye coordination.
Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
Computer literacy required.
Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
