Role Description

The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Aldersyde, AB, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Aldersyde office. This includes staff management, business development, project quoting, material costing, job scheduling, and invoicing for completed projects. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for existing and new customers, ensuring responsiveness to customer inquiries and concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with executive management to align operational priorities with company objectives and support organizational performance.
• Prioritize initiatives that elevate the customer experience, address concerns, and recommend strategies for improvement.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials and labor related to project requirements.
• Support executive management with RFP response preparation as well as various documents and reports.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with the head office on onboarding and offboarding processes for Aldersyde staff.
• Manage scheduling of Aldersyde staff and jobs and review submitted hours for accuracy.
• Create and approve customer invoicing for completed projects to maintain financial accuracy.
• Coordinate with the Fleet Manager regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely shipping and receiving materials to support operational demands.
• Ensure timely maintenance and repairs of facilities, including the Aldersyde shop, house and yard.
• Coordinate with the Health and Safety department on inspections, procedures, and heavy rigging to ensure the safety of employees and crews on sites.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts on a quarterly basis or as required
• Build business opportunities by identifying clients, approaching and securing contracts
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, business administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Understanding of typical accounting methods including accounts receivable, accounts payable and reconciliation
• Project management experience
• Experience managing diverse teams in remote areas
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.
