Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Our client is a private home care center located in the heart of Halifax and is currently seeking an experienced Personal Care Assistant to join our care team. As a <\/span> Personal Care Assistant <\/span> , you will provide client personal care to residents in accordance with their care plans in order to meet the individual residents’ needs. <\/span>

-Daily tasks assigned by the Charge Nurse (supervisor)<\/span>
<\/p>

· Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities including bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, positioning in bed, feeding, and transferring. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Assist in admission and in -house transfers as directed by the charge nurse. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Answer resident call bells. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Keep resident rooms tidy and organized. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Clean and make beds, strip beds and room of discharged residents. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Measure and record intake and outputs. <\/span>
<\/p>

· Share in observing changes in resident’s condition and report observations to immediate supervisor. <\/span>

Requirements <\/h3>

• Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support – CPR <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Successful completion of CCA/PCW course <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Alzheimer course preferred <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Experience in a similar environment is considered an asset <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Effective communication, both written and verbal in English <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Personal care of residents including restorative care and the ability to lift up to 50lbs <\/span>
  <\/p><\/li>

• Covid -19 Vaccination - three doses <\/span>
