Position: Small Engine Mechanic – To Repair Generators & Engine Driven Welders
Location: Edmonton
Responsibilities
Kristian Electric is looking for a Mechanic to fill our Small Engine Mechanic opening at our Edmonton branch. As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing generators and engine driven welders. This role is open to experienced Journeyman or Apprentice Mechanics with knowledge on electrical wiring and diagnosis. The successful candidate will be:

Role Summary: As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, calibrating, diagnosing, and evaluating repairs to Engine Driven Welding Machines and Generators in house and on job sites occasionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, calibrate and recommend maintenance programs for Welding Equipment and Generators
- Follow product manuals and service requests diligently
- Working with others to inspect, diagnose, and repair welders
- Complying with safety requirements
Educational Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Mechanic, Apprentice, or an Engine Technician
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience And Skills Required
- Minimum 3 years as a Journeyman Mechanic, Apprentice, or as an Engine Technician
- Capable of working on gas drive and diesel engines
- Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification
- Experience with welders and electrical trouble-shooting is considered an asset
- Experience operating overhead cranes is considered an asset

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communicator both written and verbally
- Must have valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
